ALLEN, TEXAS - In the second day of the SCS NAIA Invitational Tournament in Allen, Texas, the Lyon College Scots softball team lost to No.1-ranked Oklahoma City, 15-4 and fell to Tabor College (Ks.) 26-3 on Saturday afternoon in Allen, Texas.
In the first game, OKC scored eight runs in the top of the first inning. The Scots (0-4) got a 2-run homer from
Mary Duffield that scored
Fallon Lancaster and make it an 8-2 game. However, OKC added three more runs in the top of the second inning to go up 11-2.
Sophie Varela singled in
Anna Voth for the Scots in the bottom of the second, but Oklahoma City scored four more runs in the top of the third inning. Varela tripled in
Emily Martinez to make it 15-4 in the bottom of the fourth.
Alyssa Buentello suffered the loss for the Scots.
Sabrina Lowe came in to pitch 1.1. innings and
McKenzie Campbell pitched the final three innings.
In the second game, Tabor scored 17 runs in the top of the third inning and led 20-0 beforeÂ
the Scots scored a run. Lyon College added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, as well.
Duffield,
Trinity Arrambide and Martinez scored all three runs for the Scots in the game.Â
