Malik Madison scored 16 points,
John Paul Morgan scored 15 and Franke Toney added 14 points to lead the Lyon College Scots to a 75-54 SLIAC win over the Principia Panthers at Hay Field House.
The Scots (5-2, 2-0) led 36-29 at halftime and outscored Principia 39-25 in the second half to pick up their second conference win in a row.
Kylon McCullough and
Nikola SaSaroga both had nine points each, Isreal Palmer scored six points,
Jackson Midyett made a three-pointer,
Luke Bridges had a basket and
Trenton Bell was 1-for-2 at the free throw line.Â
Madison and SaSaroga led Lyon College in rebounds with eight each. McCullough had seven and Morgan hauled in six.Â
Lyon took an early lead on baskets from Madison and Toney, but Principia came back to go ahead 10-6 before McCullough hit a jumper to tie the game with 11:35 to go in the first half. Madison tied the game at 18-18 minutes later on an inside jumper then finally gave the Scots the lead again with a jump hook to make it 26-25. Scores from Toney and free throws by Madison led to SaSarogra putting Lyon College ahead by seven at halftime on a layup inside with three seconds to go.
Toney made a three-pointer in the early stages of the second half to set up Palmer for a layup and two free throws from McCullough to increase the Scots lead to nine points, 45-36. Toney converted a layup, Madison got a dunk and Morgan picked up a short basket during a 6-0 run.
Lyon led by as much as 16 points with 5:50 to go, 62-46 on a layup from Morgan. three minutes later, a three-pointer from McCullough and a layup by Palmer gave the Scots their largest lead of the game, 21 points, 70-49.Â
