CARLINVILLE, Illinois - The Lyon College volleyball Scots split a tri-match in SLIAC action on Saturday at Blackburn College.
The Scots (7-10, 4-2) defeated host Blackburn 3-0 and lost to Fontbonne 3-2 after leading 2-0.
Against Blackburn, Lyon College won in straight sets 25-23, 26-24 and 25-21.Â
Paeton Tucker led the Scots with eight kills,
Kylee Sabella had six and
Janiya Vanderpool added six kills.
Lauren White served up three aces, while
Madeline Hopson and
Bethany Williams both had one ace each. Sabella had three blocks, Williams had two blocks and
Keeley Beary had two blocks in the match. Hopson led in assists with 13, White added nine and
Marti Flores had two assists. Sabella led in digs with 19, Flores had 18 and Tucker had 14 digs.
Against Fontbonne, Lyon College won the first set 25-19 and won the second set 25-23, but lost the third set 25-22, lost the fourth 25-13 and finally dropped the fifth set 15-8 to the Griffins.Â
Tucker led with 17 kills, Sabella had 14 and
Isabella Beasley had 11 kills. Hopson had three aces, Tucker had two and Williams added one. Sabella had nine blocks, Beary had seven and Tucker added two. Hopson led in assists with 22, White had 20 and Flores added four. Tucker led in digs with 25, Flores had 21 and Sabella finished with 17 digs.
