BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College Scots women's soccer team hosted Senior Day for six of their own on Saturday afternoon, but visiting Spalding University came away with a 3-1 win in SLIAC match play at Huser Field.
The Scots (2-8, 0-5) trailed 3-0 when
Addy Lovell netted a penalty kick at the 67:31 mark to give Lyon College its only goal of the match.Â
Aisha Mahmound had one shot on-goal,
Taylor Hammons had two shots and one of them was on-goal and Lovell booted in her only shot on-goal.
Priscilla Luevanon had five saves at her goalie position for the Scots.Â
Before the game,
Alli Mead,
Ashlyn Winters, Mahmound, Hammons, Lovell and
Julianna Novakovic were honored for Senior Day.
For the match, Luevano,
Zoe Papazoglou, Mahmound and Lovell played the entire 90 minutes.
Jessica Steele played for 87 minutes,
Alexis Whitley was in for 80 minutes,
Bella Nehus worked for 78 minutes, Hammons garnered 77 minutes and
Katelyn Balderas played 74 minutes.Â
Spalding led 1-0 with a goal with five seconds to go before halftime. The Golden Eagles scored a goal at the 56:21 mark and again at the 61:51 mark of the second half.Â
