ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Lyon College Scots played out of conference on Saturday and lost an exhibition contest at Henderson State University 82-50 to the Reddies on Saturday at Duke Wells Gymnasium.
Trenton Bell led Lyon College with 14 points,
Nikola SaSaroga had nine points,
Delvonte McCloud scored eight points and
Luke Bridges came off the bench to score seven points.
John Paul Morgan had five points and 10 rebounds, Sasaroga and Bridges both had seven rebounds in the game. The Scots got 26 points in the paint, had six points off of turnovers, eight second-chance points, five fast break points and nine bench points.
SaSaroga made two free throws to start the game to put the Scots up 2-0, but that was the only lead they would have during the afternoon. Henderson State took a 9-2 lead before Bell made two free throws and
Israel Palmer put in a layup. McCloud scored inside and Bell made a three-pointer to keep the Scots close at 16-14 midway through the first half, but the Reddies went on a 10-2 run to go up by double-digits. Palmer scored again and SaSaroga put in a free throw, but Henderson State reeled off 11 straight points and led 37-22 at halftime.
The Reddies led 60-30 midway through the second half before McCloud made two free throws. Bell made a three-pointer and McCloud made two more free throws. Henderson State went back up by 33 points with 7:01 to go in the game, 72-33. Bridges completed a three point play, SaSaroga made two more free throws and Bridges scored again, but the Reddies led by as much as 34 points in the final minute of the game.
