BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College volleyball defeated Cottey College 3-1 on Friday night at Becknell Gymnasium in Batesville to improve to 2-0 in the American Midwest Conference.
The Scots (8-8, 2-0) won the first set 25-14, lost the second set to Cottey 25-18, but came back to take the third and fourth set 25-15 and 25-22.
Kylee Sabella led Lyon College with 15 kills,
Paeton Tucker was next with 11 kills,
Isabella Beasley eight kills, while
Jayden Hughes and
Samantha Ferguson had six kills each and
Natalia Szymanska had three kills.
Madeline Hopson led the Scots with 18 assists,
Cassidy Garrett had 17 assists,
Layla Wilson had five,
Erin Haigwood had four assists, while Tucker and Hughes had two assists each.
Haigwood had 19 digs in the match, Sabella had 17, Tucker made 10 digs, Hopson had six, Szymanska had five and Hughes finished with four digs to lead Lyon College.
The Scots continue in AMC play on Saturday at home against William Woods beginning at 1 p.m.
