ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Lyon College Scots baseball team (26-15) split a non-conference double-header at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia against the Henderson State Reddies, losing 8-0 in the first game taking game two 7-2.
The Scots only managed to get five hits in the first game against Henderson State.
Aaron Hurd,
Alan West,
Alec White,
Hakeem Yatim and
Kaden Doan were able to get hits, while
Chris Lara, Doan and Hurd all drew walks.Â
In the second game, HSU led 2-0 after two innings, but
Joe Weatherford flied out to right field to sacrifice home Doan in the top of the third inning.
Logan Doody scored on a wild pitch and West singled to left field to bring in Hurd for a 3-2 lead.
Lyon College added another run in the top of the fourth inning when Doody singled to left field to bring in Lara and make it 4-2.
In the fifth, West reached on a bunt single that caused a throwing error and Weatherford scored on the play. White singled to center field to score Hurd and West came in when Lara singled to left field.
Cameron Gordon was the winning pitcher, going a full seven innings and giving up two earned runs.Â
