BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College baseball Scots defeated the Central Baptist College Mustangs on Friday afternoon at Fred Wann Field in Batesville 13-3 in a seven-inning American Midwest Conference game.
The Scots (19-14, 4-3)Â trailed 1-0 after the top of the first inning, but
Aaron Hurd tripled in
Joe Weatherford to tie the game, then
Alan West grounded out to second for a sacrifice and scoring Hurd on the play for a 2-1 lead.
CBC tied the game in the top of the second inning, but Hurd hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in
Troy Strack for a 3-2 Scots lead.
Stack gave the Scots a 4-2 advantage by hitting a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in
Chris Lara.Â
In the fifth
Alec White singled in
Joe Weatherford. White later scored on a wild pitch for a 7-2 lead.Â
The Mustangs got a solo home run in the top of the sixth, but in the bottom half of the inning, West singled in Strack and White hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Weatherford and Hurd scored on a throwing error for a 10-3 Scots lead.
Strack doubled in
Kaden Doan and
Zach Ellis in the bottom of the seventh inning and Weatherford reached on an error to bring in Strack and end the game.
