CRESTVIEW HILLS, Kentucky – On Friday afternoon, the Lyon College Scots (27-5) will play the Grand View Vikings (24-7) in the opening round of the NAIA Women's National Tournament in Crestview Hills, Kentucky at 3 p.m (EST).
The last time the two teams played was on Nov. 4, 2018 in The Grand View Classic. Lyon College, ranked 20
th at the time, won the game 71-64.
The Vikings finished second in the Heart of America Conference with a 16-3 record and lost in the first round of the conference tournament 67-56 to Benedictine College 67-56. In 34 games played, Grand View scores an average of 76.82 points per game and allows opponents 64.20 points per game.
Grand View is fourth in the NAIA in three-pointers made per game with a 9.9 average and the Vikings are fourth with a 30.5 points per game three-point attempts average.
Senior guard Shannon Pinsey leads the Vikings in scoring and ranks second in the Heart of America Conference with a 17.6 points per game average. Pisney is a repeat selection to the Heart Conference First-Team. She averages 5.6 rebounds per game.
McKenna Monahan, a senior guard, averages 9.4 points per game. For the second year in a row,
Monahan received Honorable Mention honors. She has been a threat on defense scooping up 58 defensive boards for a season total of 72 rebounds and counting.
Maddie Ahlstrom averages 6.4 points per game. Ahlstrom received the first All-Conference nod of her career. The junior guard has been a key factor in the Viking's offense this season as she has dished out 115 assists through 25 games played. Even more impressive is her assist to turnover ratio which ranks third in the NAIA this season at 3.7.
Ella Larsen, a freshman forward, averages 11.5 points per game. The sharpshooting freshman made an almost immediate impact to the Viking lineup starting 24 of 26 contests this season. Shooting just under 50% from the field (49.8), Larsen is average 11.5 points per game while also collecting 127 rebounds for an average of 4.9 per game. She shoots 49.5 percent from the field and averages 4.8 rebounds per game.
Brianda Bane, a senior forward, averages 10.2 points per game. Garnering the first All-Conference accolades of her career, Bane has tallied up 10.2 points per game through 28 contests this season while playing 22.6 minutes. She's also collected 112 rebounds with 71 coming on the defensive end. The forward has also recorded 12 steals and 25 blocks thus far. She shoots 45.7 percent from the field and averages 4.0 rebounds per game.
Others to watch, senior guard Kelley Leerar who leads the Heart of America Conference in three-point shooting percentage with 42.4 percent and she averages 4.7 points per game. Elle Rengstorf, a sophomore guard, has played in 30 games and has a 3.3. points per game average. Senior guard Brianna Jenson has played in 30 games and averages 3.1 points per game. Natalie Rigatuso, a senior guard, has played in 30 games and averages 4.5 points per game. Amanda Chizek, a sophomore forward, has played in 23 games, Isabelle Gscheidle, a junior guard, has played in 26 games and averages 5.9 points per game, and Lauren Conrey, a sophomore guard has played in 24 games for Grand View.
In their last game, the Vikings led 8-0 and held on to lead 11-10 after one quarter versus Benedictine. Benedictine used an 8-0 run and a 5-0 run to lead 28-16 over Grand View at halftime and led 46-30 heading into the fourth quarter.
Pisney led the Vikings with 16 points and six rebounds. Monahan had 12 points, Larsen added eight points, while Bane, Rigatuso and Jensen each scored six points.

Should the Scots win both games in the opening rounds Friday and Saturday, they will advance to the next round to be held at Sioux City, Iowa.
