Box Score BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College Scots fell to 17-11 overall and 2-2 in the American Midwest Conference standings after dropping a 12-2 decision to the visiting Missouri Baptist Spartans (10-11, 3-1) on Friday afternoon at Fred Wann Field in Batesville.

The Spartans took a 1-0 lead in top of the first inning, but Alec White singled to right field to bring in Joe Weatherford to tie the game. 

The Spartans added a run in the top of the third inning and scored two more in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead. The Scots came back to put up a run in the bottom of the fourth when Zach Ellis doubled in Hakeem Yatim to make it 4-2.

The Spartans put the game out of reach with a seven-run eighth inning to go up by 10 runs. 

The two teams play a double-header on Saturday afternoon beginning at noon at Fred Wann Field.
