Batesville, AR – Two Lyon College baseball players earned recognition from Natural State Baseball following strong performances during the 2026 season.
Ashton Compton and
Kooper McCoy were both named Honorable Mention selections by the organization. Both student-athletes also garnered Third Team All-SLIAC honors for their contributions to the Scots on the field.
Compton, a junior from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, started 43 games for the Scots and was a key contributor throughout the season. He scored 54 runs while collecting 68 hits, including 17 doubles and one triple. Compton also drove in 39 runs and finished with a .514 slugging percentage and a .470 on-base percentage.
Defensively, Compton was just as impactful, recording 354 putouts and posting an impressive .987 fielding percentage. His production at the plate and reliability in the field helped earn him Honorable Mention recognition from Natural State Baseball and Third Team All-SLIAC honors.
McCoy, a senior from Coweta, Oklahoma, started and appeared in every game for the Scots during the 2026 season. He scored 45 runs and collected 60 hits, including 15 doubles. McCoy also provided plenty of power at the plate, launching seven home runs and driving in 50 runs.
He finished the season with a .558 slugging percentage and a .442 on-base percentage, establishing himself as one of Lyon's most consistent offensive threats. Defensively, McCoy recorded 150 putouts and posted a .976 fielding percentage. His all-around performance earned him Honorable Mention recognition from Natural State Baseball and Third Team All-SLIAC honors.
