Patterson scores 30 in Scots win

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College Scots will continue their 2021-22 basketball season on Thursday night when they face off with the Missouri Baptist Spartans in the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference tournament.
The Scots qualified for the second round by defeating Harris-Stowe State University 77-64 on Tuesday night at Becknell Gymnasium. Grant Patterson led the Scots with 30 points and made 14-of-17 free throws in the game. John Paul Morgan had 19 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double and Trenton Bell scored 15 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Erick Koludrovic had 10 rebounds and four points and Gavin Brunson added seven points and started the game.
The Scots led 33-30 at halftime.  Lyon College scored 16 points in the paint, 11 points off of turnovers and had 32 second -chance points. The lead changed four times during the first half as the Scots were getting on a roll.
Leading 18-17 on a Bell three-pointer, Lyon held the lead until the break. In the second half, Patterson scored 13 points, and Morgan added 12 points and eight rebounds.
