Batesville, Ark. – The Lyon College Scots dropped a 59-46 home decision to the William Woods Owls on Saturday afternoon in American Midwest Conference play at Becknell Gymnasium in Batesville.
Trenton Bell led Lyon College with 17 points,
Grant Patterson added 10 points and
John Paul Morgan had five points and 12 rebounds. The Scots were 16-of-66 from the field for 24.2 percent. They made 6-of-20 three-point shots for 30 percent and made 8-of-14 free throws.
The Scots trailed 27-21 at halftime. They were down 8-0 before Patterson put them on the scoreboard with a jump shot. Johnathan Iliya scored inside, Bell put in a basket and Bell hit a three-pointer with 1:32 to go in the first half to close the gap to four points, 25-21.
Eric Koludrovic hit two jump shots to start the second half for Lyon College. The Scots got within seven points midway through the second half on consecutive jumpers from Patterson to make it 43-36.
Luke Bridges made a free throw, but the Owls moved out to a 14-point lead.
Koludrovic and Morgan both made three-pointers for Lyon in the final minute to get as close as 13 points.
