BATESVILLE, Ark. - On Monday night the Lyon College Scots defeated the visiting Bacone Warriors 83-62 at Becknell Gymnasium.

The Scots (3-5, 0-3) were led in scoring by Israel Palmer with 17 points. Trenton Bell added 12, Luke Bridges came off the bench to score 12 points, John Paul Morgan had 10 points and seven rebounds and Devin Halford came off the Lyon College bench to hit two three-pointers and finish with 10 points. 

The Scots got 18 points in the paint, 15 second-chance points, 33 bench points and led by as much as 26 points midway through the second half. 

Lyon College led 43-28 at halftime and outscored Bacone 40-34 in the second half. 

The Scots led 8-5 when Bridges came in the game and started a run with a jumper. Sando Hill followed with a three-pointer, then Bridges came back with consecutive baskets. Morgan scored inside, Bell had a dunk and Donovynn Lewis hit a three-pointer for a 24-8 lead. 

Palmer's layup with 14:09 left in the second half put the Scots up 59-33.
