PINEVILLE, La. - The Lyon College Scots held their own in the first quarter against the Louisiana Christian Wildcats, but a 24-3 second quarter eventually led to a 50-3 loss at Wildcat Field in Pineville, Louisiana on Saturday afternoon in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
The Scots (1-8, 0-8) fell behind 7-0 in the first quarter on a 1-yard run from LCU quarterback Sal Palermo that capped off a 92-yard, 14-play drive. The Wildcats scored again with 12:08 left in the second quarter on a 58-yard pass from Palermo to Canaan Leon to make it 14-0.
Palermo connected on a 20-yard pass to Micah Dunn with 9:14 to go in the first half to lift Louisiana Christian's lead to 21-0. However, the Scots did get some offense going after a mistimed onside kickoff by the Wildcats only went 11 yards.Â

Isaiah Bradford connected on a 17-yard pass to
DeVante White. Three plays later, place-kicker
Kevin Kargozar kicked a 25-yard field goal with 7:08 to get Lyon College on the scoreboard, down 21-3.
The Wildcats came back down the field and got a 34-yard field goal with 3:25 left before halftime to lead 24-3, then got the ball back and scored on a 19-yard run from Palermo to lead 31-3 with 25 seconds left in the half.
Louisiana Christian scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter on a 15-yard Palermo run and a 38-yard pass from Palermo to James Powell to lead 44-3. The final touchdown for the Wildcats came on a Rob McKnight 1-yard run with 9:11 left in the game.
Louisiana Christian amassed 599 of total offense that included 401 rushing yards. Lyon College had 135 yards of total offense in the game.Â
Bradford led the passing attack for the Scots with 66 yards on 6-of-18 passing. His longest pass was complete for a 25-yard gain to
Reed Gonzales. Reginald Brown caught two passes for 20 yards and White had one catch for 17 yards.
Jacob Ramirez led the Scots rushing attack with 25 yards on 11 carries. Bradford had 22 yards on three rushes and
Reed Michna had 17 yards on six carries.Â
