PHOENIX, ARIZONA - The Lyon College Scots football team led 8-7 early in the first quarter, but the Arizona Christian Firestorm scored 53 consecutive points to win the Sooner Athletic Conference game 60-8 on Saturday night in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Scots (1-5, 0-5) scored when senior quarterback Isaiah Bradford found Reginald Brown II the open for a 6-yard touchdown pass that capped off a 75-yard drive in three plays. Bradford ran in the 2-point conversion and the Scots led 8-7 after the Firestorm had scored on their first drive in 1:09.

The Lyon College drive started with 12:14 remaining in the first quarter with a 2-yard run from Jacob Ramirez. That set up a 67-yard pass from Bradford to Clifford Washington to the Arizona Christian 6-yardline and on the next play, Bradford connected with Brown for the touchdown. 

Arizona Christian came back down the field to get a 15-yard touchdown pass and lead 14-8. 

Before the end of the first quarter, the Scots defense stopped another potential scoring drive when Keidrick Wooten, Cameron Scarlett, Michael Hullett, Nate Sarver, Chad Crenshaw and Jayden Washington all played key roles in halting the Firestorm. Wooten and Hullett sacked Arizona Christian quarterback Tyler Duncan for a 2-yard loss and forced a missed 54-yard field goal.

The Scots opened the second period with the ball and eventually had to punt and Ramirez booted the ball 62-yards. Two plays later, though, Duncan ran 70-yards for a Firestorm touchdown. 

On the next Lyon College drive, Bradford completed a 19-yard pass to McKellar Cook to the Arizona Christian 18 yardline after runs from Aedan Huntsman and Reed Michna. Bradford was sacked on the next play and two incomplete passes later, kicker Kevin Kargozar's 42-yard field goal was blocked.

The Firestorm scored on a 42-yard pass play to lead 28-8. 

A promising drive by the Scots started with five straight rushes by Michna that gained 21 yards, then Bradford passed to Karson Douglas for a 12-yard gain to the ACU 46. On the following play, Bradford fumbled the ball on a quarterback run.

Eight plays later, the Firestorm scored on a 16-yard pass completion to lead 35-8 just before halftime.

In the third quarter, Arizona Christian scored on a 5-yard run in the first 6:47 of the period. Then added another touchdown with 1:21 left in the quarter to lead 50-8.

The Scots' Austin Baker recovered an Arizona Christian fumble on a punt return at the 50 yardline and backup quarterback Brady Miller completed a 20-yard pass to Brown. Eventually the Lyon College drive stalled out after Miller was sacked.

The Firestorm added a 25-yard field goal and 47-yard touchdown run to complete the scoring in the game.
