Scots fall at Williams Baptist

Keton scores 23, Bell adds 21 for Lyon

Ben Keton scored 23 points and Trenton Bell hit for 21 points to lead the Lyon Scots in an American Midwest Conference loss at Williams Baptist 77-65 on Saturday afternoon.
Bell also had 10 rebounds, while Grant Patterson scored nine points, Erick Koludrovic had seven points and a team-high 12 rebounds and John Paul Morgan had three points and eight rebounds. The Scots shot 38.2 percent from the field and 38.1 percent on three-pointers (8-of-21) and made 5-of-11 free throws for 45.5 percent. Williams Baptist shot 39.4 percent, 27.6 percent and 68.4 percent in the same categories for the game.
Williams Baptist led 7-0 before Bell knocked down a three-pointer for Lyon. The Scots trailed 14-5 when Patterson drove the lane for a layup after five minutes of play. Eric Koludrovic made a three-pointer and Morgan hit a shot inside to lead cut the lead to 16-14 with 12:31 to go in the first half. From there, Williams Baptist went on a 10-2 run to the 7:48 mark to lead 26-16.
Bell scored the next seven points for the Scots and Jonathan Iliya put in a bank shot as Lyon made a run to get back in the game and cut the lead to 31-27.  Bell's jumper with 2:58 to go made it a one-point contest 32-31, but Williams Baptist scored five straight and led 39-33 at halftime.
Keton made a jumper after Patterson started the second half with a three-pointer to cut the lead to one-point again. Seconds later, Bell scored inside to put Lyon up 40-39. And the run continued with a basket by Keton and a three-pointer from Keton made it 45-39 lead with 17:22 left in the second half. Williams Baptist came back to take a 54-53 lead with 10:46 to go.
Williams Baptist used a 11-3 run to the 5:41 mark to lead 64-57. The Scots fell behind by double-digits despite scores from Koludrovic inside and a three-pointer from Keton.
