John Paul Morgan got his eighth double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds,
Grant Patterson scored 11 points and
Eric Koludrovic hit 3-of-4 three-pointers for 11 points in the Lyon College Scots 83-62 home loss to the Columbia College Cougars on Thursday night in American Midwest Conference play at Becknell Gymnasium.
Lyon shot 36.7 percent from the field, 32 percent on three-pointers and made 10-of-12 free throws for 83.3 percent. Columbia College was led by Tony Burks with 20 points. As a team, the Cougars shot 54.8 percent from the field and 45.4 percent on three-pointers (13-of-28) and hit 50 percent of their free throws.
The Scots fell behind 8-0 before Patterson hit a jump shot. Keton followed with a three-pointer and Keton made a jump shot to cut the lead to one point. Keton made two free throws and made two straight three-pointers to put Lyon in front 15-14 at the 13:01 mark of the first half. Keton scored and Koludrovic made a three-pointer to cut the lead to 21-20. Patterson made a free throw after a made Cougars basket, but Columbia went on a 9-0 run to lead 33-21.
Jonathan Iliya scored Keton made a three-pointer and Morgan scored inside to get the Scots to within nine points. Columbia scored six straight points and
Trenton Bell's jumper made it a 44-30 Columbia College lead at halftime.
The Cougars led by 19 points when Patterson made a jumper from the lane. Morgan scored inside and made two free throws to make it a 13-point game 49-36 with 14:19 to go.
Gavin Brunson made a shot inside off an assist from Morgan. And Morgan made a three-pointer off an assist from Koludrovic. Koludrovic made a three-pointer at the 10:17 mark to cut into Columbia's 58-44 lead.
Koludrovic made another three-pointer and Patterson made consecutive jump shots, but pulled away for a 23-point lead with 32 seconds remaining in the game. Morgan made a jumper with nine seconds left.
