BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's soccer team battled hard against a strong LSU-Shreveport squad but fell in double overtime, 1-0, on a golden goal by the Pilots.
The Scots fell to 1-1 on the season, while LSU-Shreveport improved to 1-1.
Both teams had several good looks during regulation as the Pilots had eight shots while the Scots took seven shots during the first two halves, but neither side was able to find the back of the net.
After a scoreless first overtime, the Pilots netted the game-winning goal in the second overtime period. LSUS took the ball on a challenge against the Scots as Scott Neil passed the ball ahead to Julius Williams who connected on the game-winning goal in the 104th minute.
Leo Galdino and Kanata Furutani both had two shots on goal to lead the Scots, while Bosco Pery had four saves in goal.
The Scots will have a quick turnaround as they will host another quality team in John Brown on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
