TEXARKANA, TEXAS – After a scoreless first half between the Lyon College men's soccer team and LSU-Alexandria, Jorge Cayo scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 58th minute as the Scots earned a 1-0 victory in their season opener on Wednesday night.
The Scots outshot the Generals, 4-1, in the first half but only attempted one shot in the second half. The lone shot in the second half was all the Scots needed as Leo Galdino was credited for the assist on the Cayo game-winner.
Tom Baynard-Smith recorded three saves and earned a shutout in his first contest as a Scot.
The Scots will host LSU-Shreveport this Saturday for their home opener at 5 p.m.
