BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball team ended the regular season with a record of 21-21 overall and 16-12 in American Midwest Conference play and enters this week's AMC Tournament as the No. 4-seed. The Scots will open up tournament play on Tuesday evening at 4 p.m. against the winner of No. 5-seed Central Baptist College and No. 8-seed Hannibal-LaGrange. This year's AMC Tournament will be held at CarShield Field in O'Fallon, Mo.

THE MATCHUP

The Scots clinched the No. 4-seed in the AMC Tournament following a four-game series sweep this past weekend at Hannibal-LaGrange.

Alan West led the Scots offensively during the regular season as he finished with a team-high .350 batting average. West went 48-for-137 at the plate with 13 doubles, three triples and two home runs. He tied Haydn Finley for the team lead with 32 RBI and scored 23 times. Troy Strack led the Scots with 33 runs scored.

Marcelo Terrazas and West led the Scots' pitching staff with six wins each during the regular season. West posted a record of 6-5 with a 4.03 ERA and threw five complete games with one shutout. In 67 innings pitched, he struck out a team-high 90 batters. Terrazas finished the regular season with a record of 6-4 with a 4.62 ERA. He threw one complete game. Terrazas struck out 56 batters over 62.1 innings pitched. Nash Winters led the Scots' bullpen with three saves this season.

The Scots will face the winner between No. 5-seed Central Baptist College and No. 8-seed Hannibal-LaGrange. CBC finished the regular season with a record of 24-19 overall and 10-14 in the AMC. HLGU posted a record of 17-26 overall and 7-21 in the AMC.

The Scots took three-of-four in their series at Central Baptist College earlier this season and swept their four-game series at Hannibal-LaGrange this past weekend.
