BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball team will play the final four games of an eight-game road trip this weekend when the Scots make the short drive to Conway for an American Midwest Conference series at Central Baptist College. The Scots and Mustangs will play a doubleheader on both Friday and Saturday beginning at noon at Bear Stadium on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.

THE MATCHUP
The Scots dropped to 10-16 overall and 5-7 in the AMC after losing each of their four games at Missouri Baptist last weekend.
Alan West and Tristan Buschow continue to bat above .300 this season at .313 and .302, respectively. West is 26-for-83 with eight doubles, one triple, one home run, 20 RBI and 12 runs scored. Buschow is 16-for-53 with two doubles, five RBI and nine runs scored.
This weekend's starting rotation on the mound for the Scots will likely consist of Lex Meinderts, Alan West, Marcelo Terrazas and Cameron Gordon. Meinderts is 2-6 with a 2.52 ERA and has struck out 57 batters in 39.1 innings pitched. West is 4-3 with a 3.64 ERA and has struck out 62 batters in 42 innings pitched. Terrazas is 2-4 with a 5.06 ERA and has struck out 39 batters in 37.1 innings pitched. Gordon is 1-0 with a 7.65 ERA and has struck out 14 batters in 20 innings pitched.
Central Baptist College enters this weekend's series at 16-10 overall and 7-5 in the AMC. The Mustangs are coming off a 13-5 non-conference win at Ecclesia College on Tuesday.
Will Hodges is the player to watch in the Mustangs' lineup this season. Hodges is batting .455 (41-for-90) with nine doubles, one triple, 12 home runs, 42 RBI and 24 runs scored. The Mustangs also have five other regular starters – Jay French (.371), Ruben Hernandez (.358), Steven Stewart (.354), Kelvin Volquez (.347) and Wille Baez (.325) – hitting above .300 this season.
CBC will likely start Will Hodges, Austin Lejeune, Fernando Escapita and Andrew Killough on the mound this weekend. Hodges is 4-2 with a 2.34 ERA and has struck out 40 batters in 34.2 innings pitched. Lejeune is 1-1 with a 3.79 ERA and has struck out 17 batters in 19 innings pitched. Escapita is 4-2 with a 4.79 ERA and has struck out 23 batters in 20.2 innings pitched. Killough is 3-1 with a 4.94 ERA and has struck out 42 batters in 31 innings pitched.
NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following this weekend's series at CBC, the Scots will return home for the final time during their 2021 season as they will host William Woods in a four-game conference series on Apr. 16 and 18.
