Game One: Lyon 15, HLGU 2

The Scots jumped out to a commanding eight-run lead with a run in the top of the first, two more in the second and five more in the top of the third before the Trojans got on the board with a run in the bottom of the third.

A one-out walk by Aaron Hurd opened up another big inning for the Scots in the top of the fifth as Haydn Finley followed with a single to left. Cameron Hockle delivered a pinch-hit single to plate the first run of the frame before Alec White drove in Finley with a sacrifice fly. Jesse McGonigal followed with a double to left before Dustin Caplett drove in two runs with a triple and gave the Scots an 11-1 lead.

Jake Michener, Tristan Buschow and Finley all recorded two hits each to lead the Scots.

Lex Meinderts picked up the win on the mound as he allowed just one run on one hit while striking out four over three innings pitched. Thomas Fletcher and Brandon Glenn both tossed a scoreless inning of relief.

Game Two: Lyon 14, HLGU 1

Joe Weatherford gave the Scots a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning before the Trojans tied the game with a run in the bottom of the second inning.

From there, it was all Lyon as the Scots plated two runs in both the third and fifth innings around a four-run fourth inning and extended their lead to 9-1.

The Scots added to their lead in the late innings as Alan West drove in a run with an RBI-single in the top of the eighth. Lyon scored four more runs in the top of the ninth as Hurd, McGonigal and Jordan Olivera all drove in a run each in the inning while an error by the Trojans led to the final run of the game.
