BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Scots used two first-half goals and a trio of second-half goals to defeat Harris-Stowe State University by a score of 5-1 on Saturday.
Lyon moves to 7-5 overall, 5-3 in the AMC, while Harris-Stowe State University concludes their season at 6-6 overall, 5-4 in the AMC.

The match remained scoreless until the 14
th minute as
Alexandria Denton sent a through ball to
Sarah Evans. Evans took one touch and struck a shot into the back of the net, giving Lyon a 1-0 lead. Harris-Stowe State University would answer right back on a goal by Izabella Tedesco, knotting the match at one. The matched remained tied until the 41
st minute.
Hailey Williams dribbled the ball up the sideline and sent a cross into the box.
Kate Whitenton tapped the ball to
Alexandria Denton who slid a shot into the back of the net, giving the Scots a 2-1 lead heading into the half.
Just six minutes into the half,
Alexandria Denton delivered a pass to
Sarah Evans. Evans struck a left-footed shot from just outside the box past the HSSU keeper, doubling Lyon's advantage. In the 62
nd minute,
Hailey Gonzales collected a rebound and curled a shot into the back of the net, giving Lyon a 4-1 advantage. The Scots would tack on one more goal in the 75
th minute as
Sarah Evans slid a shot past the HSSU goalie, completing her hat trick and earning the Scots a 5-1 victory over the Harris Stowe State University Hornets in the AMC Quarterfinals.
