COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Cougars used five first-half goals and four second-half goals to defeat Lyon College by a score of 9-1 on Monday.
Lyon concludes the season at 7-6 overall, 5-3 in the AMC, while Columbia College improves to 14-2 overall, 9-0 in the AMC.

Columbia College scored two early goals by Natalie Peng and Isabella Govero in the fifth and seventh minute, respectively. The score would remain 2-0 in favor of the Cougars until the 40
th minute. Columbia College scored a trio of late first-half goals as they scored in the 40
th, 41
st, and 43
rd minute, giving CC a 5-0 lead into the half.
Columbia College picked up where they left off as they would score a goal just two minutes into the second half. The Cougars would tack on two more goals over the next 10 minutes, giving CC an 8-0 lead. The Cougars scored once more in the 89
th minute. Lyon, though, would score a goal of their own in the 90
th minute as
Sarah Evans curled a corner kick into the back of the net. The Scots, though, would ultimately fall to Columbia College by a score of 9-1 in the AMC Semifinals.
