BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball team will play its final tune-up before next week's American Midwest Conference Tournament when the Scots take on Hannibal-LaGrange on the road this weekend in a four-game series. The Scots and Trojans will play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 1 p.m. and conclude their series with another twin bill on Saturday beginning at noon.

THE MATCHUP
Lyon enter the final weekend of the regular season at 17-21 overall and 12-12 in the AMC. The Scots currently sit in third place in the conference standings.
Alan West currently leads the Scots in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.325), hits (40) and doubles (12). He is currently tied with Haydn Finley for the team lead with 24 RBI. West and Jake Michener lead the Scots with three triples this season, while Finley has hit a team-high three home runs. Troy Strack currently leads the team with 24 runs scored this season.
This weekend's starting rotation on the mound for the Scots will likely consist of Lex Meinderts, Alan West, Marcelo Terrazas and Cameron Gordon. Meinderts is 4-7 with a 3.04 ERA and has struck out 69 batters in 56.1 innings pitched. West is 5-5 with a 4.14 ERA and has struck out 86 batters in 63 innings pitched. Terrazas is 5-4 with a 4.17 ERA and has struck out 51 batters in 58.1 innings pitched. Terrazas was also named the AMC Pitcher of the Week earlier this week after earning a complete-game victory last weekend at Harris-Stowe. Gordon is 2-2 with a 7.49 ERA and has struck out 20 batters in 33.2 innings pitched.
Hannibal-LaGrange enters this weekend's series at 17-22 overall and 7-17 in the AMC. The Trojans are coming off a pair of non-conference wins at Lincoln Christian earlier this week.
Jared Remspecher is the player to watch in the Trojans' lineup as he leads the team with a .464 batting average this season. Remspecher is 65-for-140 at the plate with 15 doubles, three triples and 10 home runs. He has driven in 52 runs and scored 37 times. Remspecher currently ranks sixth in the NAIA in batting average. He leads the AMC in both batting average and hits.
HLGU will likely start Jorden Billings, Jakob Rhoderick, Heath Ayers and Jaysen Mattingly on the mound against the Scots this weekend. Billings is 3-4 with a 6.81 ERA and has struck out 37 batters in 38.1 innings pitched. Rhoderick is 5-4 with a 7.32 ERA and has struck out 27 batters in 35.2 innings pitched. Ayers is 1-4 with a 7.98 ERA and has struck out 18 batters in 29.1 innings pitched. Mattingly is 2-3 with an 8.58 ERA and has struck out 25 batters in 35.2 innings pitched.
The Scots are 27-2 all-time against the Trojans.

Following their series at Hannibal-LaGrange, the Scots will prepare for the American Midwest Conference Championship, which will be held on May 4-7 at CarShield Field in O'Fallon, Mo.
