BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball team is coming off a four-game split against William Woods last weekend and will now travel to Harris-Stowe to take on the Hornets in another four-game American Midwest Conference series this Thursday and Friday. Both days are scheduled for a doubleheader to begin at noon.

THE MATCHUP
The Scots enter their series at Harris-Stowe at 15-19 overall and 10-10 in the AMC following their series split last weekend against William Woods.
Four Scots – Logan Doody, Jake Michener, Alan West and Troy Strack – are batting .300 or better entering this week's series at HSSU. Doody is hitting .371 (13-for-35), Michener is hitting .381 (28-for-88), West is batting .306 (33-for-108) and Strack is hitting an even .300 (33-for-110). West is tied with Joe Weatherford for the team lead with 22 RBI this season. Strack leads the Scots with 20 runs scored this season.
This weekend's starting rotation on the mound for the Scots will likely consist of Lex Meinderts, Alan West, Marcelo Terrazas and Cameron Gordon. Meinderts is 4-6 with a 2.24 ERA and has struck out 65 batters in 52.1 innings pitched. West is 4-5 with a 3.86 ERA and has struck out 79 batters in 56 innings pitched. Terrazas is 4-4 with a 4.74 ERA and has struck out 47 batters in 49.1 innings pitched. Gordon is 2-1 with a 7.76 ERA and has struck out 19 batters in 29 innings pitched.
Harris-Stowe enters this week's series at 8-15 overall and 4-8 in the AMC. The Hornets last played on Apr. 5, when they suffered a 19-0 loss at Fontbonne.
Logan Dryden is the player to watch in the Hornets' lineup. Dryden is batting a team-high .436 this season as he is 24-for-55 at the plate. Dryden has hit four doubles and one triple. He has driven in 11 runs and scored a team-high 18 times.
HSSU will likely start Armando Sierra, Alex Williams, Raul Alvarez and Dajuan Griffin on the mound against the Scots. Sierra is 2-2 with a 6.15 ERA and has struck out 34 batters in 33.2 innings pitched. Williams is 2-3 with a 6.33 ERA and has struck out 24 batters in 27 innings pitched. Alvarez is 1-3 with an 8.10 ERA and has struck out 19 batters in 20 innings pitched. Griffin is 0-3 with an 8.53 ERA and has struck out 19 batters in 25.1 innings pitched.
The Scots are 19-5 all-time against the Hornets and swept a three-game series last season against HSSU in Batesville on Feb. 21-22.
NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following their series at Harris-Stowe, the Scots will conclude their regular season on Apr. 30-May 1 in another four-game conference series at Hannibal-LaGrange.
