CONWAY, Ark. – The (RV) Lyon College softball team went toe-to-toe with NCAA Division I University of Central Arkansas tonight. The Scots battled, but came up short as UCA earned the victory, 3-1.
(RV) Lyon falls to 3-12 on the season, while UCA improves to 12-7.

The hosts from Conway got on the scoreboard first as Kaylyn Shepherd delivered an RBI single, giving UCA a 1-0 lead after one inning of play.
The University of Central Arkansas loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third inning. The Bears would score a pair of runs as Tremere Harris and Kaylyn Shepherd came around to score, increasing UCA's lead to three.
The Scots, though, would answer right back with a run of their own. After a one-out single by
Faith Cornmesser and a stolen base,
Addison Harmon delivered an RBI single, trimming UCA's lead to just two.
McKenzie Campbell silenced the UCA bats in her four innings of relief. However, the Scots were unable to string enough hits together as the visitors from Batesville lost to the University of Central Arkansas today, 3-1.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
The Scots return to Batesville for their home opener against Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Friday. The non-conference doubleheader will also be senior day for the Scots with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
