ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lyon College women's soccer team used a trio of second-half goals to defeat the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis on Saturday by a score of 3-0.
Lyon moves to 2-2, 2-0 in the AMC, while UHSP falls to 5-5, 2-5 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
Each side created chances in the first 45 minutes, but the match remained scoreless as the halftime whistle sounded.
The Scots came out of the half with a vengeance as
Hailey Gonzales scored a goal just 25 seconds into the half, giving Lyon a 1-0 lead. In the 68
th minute,
Hailey Williams corralled a rebound off the post and slid a shot into the lower left portion of the goal, doubling Lyon's advantage.
Emma Brandes would score her second goal in as many games as she struck a shot just passed the outstretched arms of the goalie, giving Lyon a 3-0 lead. The defense of the Scots remained organized as Lyon earned a 3-0 victory over UHSP on Saturday.
