BATESVILLE, Ark. The 14th-ranked Lyon College baseball team completed the four-game series sweep against Champion Christian College after winning the final two games of the series today by scores of 6-1 and 22-1.

The Scots improved to 5-6 on the year with the two wins today.

Game One: #14 Lyon 6, CCC 1 (7 Inn.)

The Scots put across two runs in each of the first two innings to take a 4-0 lead over the Tigers in the first game of today's doubleheader. Alan West drove in the first run in the opening frame with a single to left before an error by CCC brought in the second run. In the second, Jake Michener started a two-out rally with a double down the left-field line before he scored on a triple by Troy Strack. West followed with an RBI-single to center.

The Scots added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Derek Underwood got hit by a pitch to start the inning before Michener belted a two-run home run over the wall in left.

The Tigers put a run across in the top of the seventh but that was all they would get against Zach Blake in his first appearance of the season in relief.

Lyon starting pitcher Marcelo Terrazas was in complete control on the mound in the first game on Saturday as he tossed six shutout innings of one-hit ball while strikeout out six to earn the win.

Michener, Strack and West all collected two hits each in the first game of the day. Michener and West drove in two runs each, while Michener scored three runs.

Game Two: #14 Lyon 22, CCC 1 (4 Inn.)

The Scots pushed across eight runs in the bottom of the second inning on four hits before the Tigers scored their lone run of the game in the top of the third.

Lyon tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the third and put the game away with 10 more in the bottom of the fourth before the game was called by the umpires due to darkness.

Logan Doody finished 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBI. Haydn Finley drove in four runs and scored three times.

The Scots will travel to Loyola University New Orleans for a three-game series on Mar. 12-13.
