HANNIBAL, Mo. – The Scots used one first-half goal and one second-half goal to defeat Hannibal-LaGrange University by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.
Lyon moves to 6-5 overall, 6-3 in the AMC, while Hannibal-LaGrange University drops to 0-10 overall, 0-9 in the AMC.  
 
GAME FLOW 
The match remained scoreless until the 17
th minute as 
Emma Brandes delivered a nice pass to 
Caitlynn Porter. Porter struck a shot past the HLG goalie and into the back of the net, giving Lyon a 1-0 advantage. The Scots would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Scots wasted no time in the second half as 
Sarah Evans found a cutting

th minute. Porter struck a shot past the HLG goalie and into the back of the net, doubling Lyon's advantage. Hannibal-LaGrange University would cut Lyon's lead in half as Haley Sheldon scored a goal in the 58
th minute. Lyon's defense, though, buckled down and stayed organized, en route to a 2-1 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University on Saturday.

WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE SCOTS 
The Scots open play in the American Midwest Conference Tournament. Lyon has earned the No. 4 seed and will host the opening round match against the No. 5 seeded Harris-Stowe State University Hornets on April 2 at 2:00 p.m.
