BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball team split its first four-game American Midwest Conference series of the season last weekend against (RV) Columbia College. The Scots will continue AMC play this weekend as they will host Williams Baptist in another four-game series. Lyon and WBU will play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 4 p.m., with another doubleheader scheduled for Saturday beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Spectators for Lyon College Athletic home events will be limited to Lyon College faculty, staff and students (must show Lyon ID), as well as two family members (including children) for Lyon College student-athletes competing at the event (must present card to enter). Gates open 30 minutes prior to the start of the first game each day. Masks must be worn at all times and fans must maintain social distancing. Single game tickets are $5 for ages 13+ while 12 and under are Free.

THE MATCHUP
The Scots enter this weekend's series with a record of 7-11 overall and 2-2 in the AMC after their series against Columbia College.
Jordan Olivera is coming off a strong series offensively against the Cougars as he hit .438, going 7-for-16 at the plate. Olivera hit three doubles, drove in six runs and scored four times. He finished 4-for-5 at the plate in game two of the series, when the Scots defeated the Cougars, 12-4, in the first night game at Fred Wann Field in program history. For the season, Olivera is batting .317 (13-for-41).
This weekend's starting rotation on the mound for the Scots will likely consist of Lex Meinderts, Alan West, Marcelo Terrazas and Cameron Gordon. Meinderts is 1-5 with a 3.00 ERA and has struck out 38 batters in 27 innings pitched. West is 3-2 with a 4.03 ERA and has struck out 47 batters in 29 innings pitched. Terrazas is 2-3 with a 4.97 ERA and has struck out 27 batters in 25.1 innings pitched. Gordon is 1-0 with a 6.28 ERA and has struck out 11 batters in 14.1 innings pitched.
Williams Baptist enters the weekend at 7-7 overall and 3-1 in the AMC after winning their first conference series of the year last weekend against Harris-Stowe.
Trent Pobst and Nick Allred are the top two hitters in the Eagles' lineup this season. Pobst leads the team with a .390 average (16-for-41), with five doubles and four home runs. He also leads WBU with 16 RBI and 17 runs scored this season. Allred is second on the team with a .348 batting average (16-for-46). Allred has hit four doubles and two home runs. E is second on the team with 12 RBI and 10 runs scored.
Williams Baptist will likely start Jacob Jumper, Brennan White, Kender Carroll and Brady Sterns on the mound this weekend. Jumper is 1-0 with a 2.35 ERA and has struck out five batters in 7.2 innings pitched. White is 3-2 with a 2.53 ERA and has truck out 29 batters in 32 innings pitched. Carroll is 2-1 with a 7.20 ERA and has struck out 21 batters in 15 innings pitched. Sterns is 0-1 with a 9.28 ERA and has struck out 13 batters in 10.2 innings pitched.

Following this weekend's series against Williams Baptist, the Scots will play their first conference series on the road this season on Apr. 2-3 at Missouri Baptist.
