BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The Lyon College volleyball team battled Blue Mountain College in a back-and-forth affair this evening. Both sides traded blows all night, but the Scots came out victorious by winning the crucial fifth set to pick up the road win over the Toppers.
With the win, Lyon improves to 7-9 on the season, while Blue Mountain College drops to 8-13 on the year.
KEY STATISTICS
- Kaitlyn Jackson paced the Scots with a 35 assist and 12 dig double-double.
- Maggee Hobson was all over the court as she notched a double-double with a team-leading 21 kills, 15 digs, and 5 blocks in the contest.
- Adia Sherbeyn tallied 20 digs, while Maria Eleni Bampiri registered 10 kills and a team-high 6 blocks.
- The Scots edged the Toppers in kills, 67-63, and assists, 65-63.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE SCOTS
The Scots square off against three conference foes in Missouri this weekend. The Scots will battle Missouri Baptist University on Friday before two matches on Saturday against University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis and Harris-Stowe State University.
