BATESVILLE, Ark. – Missouri Baptist University used a first-half goal and a pair of second-half goals to defeat Lyon College by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday.
Lyon moves to 3-4 overall, 3-2 in the AMC, while Missouri Baptist University improves to 6-4 overall, 4-2 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
The Spartans got on the scoreboard first with an early goal as Lea Mason sent a ball into the box. Mara George got to the ball and delivered a shot to the left corner of the goal, giving MBU a 1-0 advantage three minutes into the contest. The Scots garnered a couple chances throughout the first half, but were unsuccessful and the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Spartans as the halftime whistle sounded.
Missouri Baptist University doubled their advantage three minutes into the half as Maddie Mrazik struck a shot into the back of the net. Three minutes later, Mrazik scored her second goal of the contest, giving MBU a 3-0 lead. The Scots attempted to build a comeback, but were unsuccessful and fell to Missouri Baptist University by a score of 3-0 Tuesday afternoon.
