BATESVILLE, Ark. – No. 21 Columbia College used a goal in each half to defeat Lyon College by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.
Lyon moves to 3-3 overall, 3-1 in the AMC, while Columbia College improves to 10-2 overall, 8-0 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
Both sides generated chances in the first half, but it was the visitors from Columbia who got on the scoreboard first. With just a couple second left in the first half, Jewel Morelan sent a cross into the box. Columbia's Natalie Zoellner was the first to the ball and struck a shot into the back of the net, giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead heading into the half.
The Cougars doubled their advantage 10 minutes into the half as Jewel Morelan directed a cross into the back of the net. The Scots generated a couple chances, but were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net, and fell to No. 21 Columbia College by a score of 2-0 Saturday evening.
