BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 18th-ranked Lyon College women's basketball team opened up a four-game home stand with a 63-51 victory on Tuesday night against Williams Baptist. The Scots will continue their home stand with a pair of American Midwest Contests later this week. Lyon will host Hannibal-LaGrange on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. before taking on Missouri Baptist on Saturday at 1 p.m.

THE MATCHUPS
LYON: The Scots improved their record to an AMC-best 8-1 on the season with their win against Williams Baptist on Tuesday night. Jade Giron recorded her first-career double-double as a Scot as she finished with a game-high 24 points to go along with a career-high 12 rebounds. Newsome finished in double figures with 11 points, while Paige Kelley grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds, which was one away from tying the Scots' single-game record of 17 that was set by Suzanne Fincham on Dec. 30, 2011, versus Southern Arkansas. For the season, Giron and Kelley continue to serve as a 1-2 punch for the Scots as Giron is averaging a team-high 21.1 points per game to go along with 8.9 rebounds per game. Kelley is second in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game, but leads the team with 9.0 rebounds per game.
HLGU: Hannibal-LaGrange enters Thursday night's matchup at 1-14 (0-9 AMC). The Trojans are coming off a 74-68 loss at home against Central Baptist College on Tuesday night. Four Trojans scored in double figures in the loss against CBC, led by Emma Anderson and Jillian Lockard, who scored a team-high 14 points each. Sophie Schooley finished with 13 points, while Madisen Simpson chipped in 11. For the season, Schooley and Anderson lead HLGU in scoring, averaging 8.8 points per game each.
MBU: Missouri Baptist currently stands at 9-4 overall and 5-2 in the AMC and will play at William Woods on Thursday night before making the trip to Lyon on Saturday. Tionne Taylor and Taylor Norris are the players to watch in the MBU lineup. Taylor is averaging a team-high 15.7 points per game, while Norris is not far behind her at 14.2 points per game. Norris leads the Spartans with 62 assists and is tied for the team lead with 21 steals.
SERIES HISTORY
The Scots will try to stay perfect in the all-time series against the Trojans and Spartans. Lyon is 19-0 all-time against Hannibal-LaGrange and 20-0 all-time against Missouri Baptist. The Scots defeated the Trojans, 68-52, in their season opener at HLGU on Jan. 7. Lyon won the first meeting against Missouri Baptist by a score of 82-69, on Jan. 9 in St. Louis.
