BATESVILLE, Ark. – For the second-straight season, the top-ranked Lyon College women's basketball team will host the American Midwest Conference Championship game as the Scots will square off against the No. 2-seed Columbia College Cougars on Monday night at 7 p.m. at Becknell Gymnasium. The Scots and Cougars earned the two automatic bids from the AMC to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament. The Scots earned their bid by winning the AMC Regular-Season Championship.

Effective Thursday, February 25: Spectators for Lyon College Athletic home events will be limited to Lyon College faculty, staff and students (must show Lyon ID), as well as two family members (including children) for Lyon College student-athletes competing at the event (must present card to enter). Gates open 30 minutes prior to the start of each contest. Masks must be worn at all times and temperature checks upon entrance. Admission for the AMC Basketball Championship is $5 per adults and Lyon College faculty/staff and $2 for Lyon College students and children under the age of 12. Fans will be unable to enter after 20 minutes following the start of each contest.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: The Scots will look to claim their first American Midwest Conference Tournament championship since the 2016 season. Lyon advanced to the AMC Championship game following a 66-59 win over No. 4-seed Missouri Baptist in the semifinals and improved to 12-1 on the season. Paige Kelley led the Scots in their win against the Spartans as she recorded her fifth double-double of the season with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jade Giron provided the Scots with another efficient game as she recorded a stat line of 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Marleigh Dodson stepped up and hit some clutch shots off the bench as she finished in double figures scoring with 10 points.
CC: Columbia College cruised past No. 6-seed Central Baptist College, 77-60, in the semifinals last Friday. Five Cougars scored in double figures in their semifinals victory for Columbia. Geena Stephens and Allison Stiers led the way with a game-high 16 points each, while Mallory Shetly, Abby Backes and Sofia Popp all scored 11 points each.
SERIES HISTORY
The Scots are 11-25 all-time against the Cougars. Lyon won the lone regular season meeting against Columbia, 64-58, on Jan. 19, in Columbia, Mo.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Monday night's AMC Championship game, the Scots will prepare for the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round, which will take place on Mar. 12-13. The Scots will find out where they will be playing for the Opening Round during the selection show on Thursday night at 6 p.m.
