BATESVILLE, Ark. – Bellevue University used a pair of second-half goals to defeat Lyon College by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.
Lyon moves to 0-1 overall, while Bellevue University improves to 7-2 on the season.
GAME FLOW
Both sides generated chances in the first half, but were unable to get on the board in the first 45 minutes. As the halftime whistle sounded, the match remained scoreless. Bellevue outshot Lyon, 10-3.
The match remained knotted at zero until the 58
th minute. Bellevue's Marilla Lagas sent a through ball to Sinai Bernal who scored her second goal of the season, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead. The Bruins would double their advantage in the 77
th minute on a goal from Britney Nolte. Lyon sent more players forward in hopes of breaking through, but were unsuccessful and ultimately fell to Bellevue University by a score of 2-0 Saturday evening.
