BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College women's volleyball team earns the No. 7 seed in the AMC Tournament and will face Columbia College in a redemption match on Tuesday.
The Scots finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-17 (3-6, AMC). They ended the season with three back-to-back home games, winning one against Harris-Stowe State University in a 3-0 shutout led by sophomore Isabella Beasley with 10 kills for the match.
Columbia College will enter the match with a 28-7 overall record (8-1, AMC). The Cougars won their last match of the season 3-1 to William Woods last Tuesday with their freshman Ellie Crede and junior Sidney Branson leading the team in kills with 13 each. Sophomore Ellie Rockers follows closely with 12 kills for the match.Â
The Scots and Cougars have met in the first round of the tournament since the 2019 season. Each time, the Scots have lost in a 0-3 upset.Â
