No. 22 Scots Prepare for Matchup at (RV) Columbia College

The 22nd-ranked Lyon College women’s basketball team will travel to (RV) Columbia College on Tuesday night

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 22nd-ranked Lyon College women's basketball team picked up two more wins last weekend and improved its record to 4-0 (4-0 American Midwest Conference) on the year. The Scots will try to keep their unblemished record intact as they travel to (RV) Columbia College on Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP

LYON: The Scots defeated Stephens College, 77-35, last Thursday, before earning a 56-47 comeback victory against William Woods on Saturday. It was the Paige Kelley show for the Scots in their two games last week after the freshman posted a pair of career-highs. Kelley got her monster week started with a career-high 25 points in the win against Stephens. She also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists, while shooting 10-of-16 from the floor. Kelley followed that up with a new career-high of 28 points in the win against the Owls. She also finished with eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals, while going 13-of-15 from the floor. For the week, Kelley averaged 26.5 points per game and 7.0 rebound per game while shooting over 74% from the floor. Kelley was named as this week's American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. For the season, Kelley is averaging a team-high 19.0 points per game, followed by Jade Giron (18.0 PPG) and Mari-Hanna Newsom (12.5 PPG).

CC: Columbia enters Tuesday night's matchup at 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the AMC. The Cougars are coming off a 69-49 win at home this past Saturday against Harris-Stowe. Mallory Shetley is the top player this season for CC as she is averaging a team-high 15.7 points per game and is second on the team with 6.4 rebounds per game. Geena Stephens is also averaging double figures scoring this season for CC at 12.0 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY

Columbia holds a 25-10 advantage over Lyon in the all-time series between the two programs. The Scots and Cougars split last year's home-and-home series, with the home team winning each matchup.

UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS

Following Tuesday's game at CC, the Scots will return home and host the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
