THE MATCHUP
LYON: The Scots enter the week at 25-2 (21-1 AMC) and lead the conference by two games over No. 14 Freed-Hardeman and No. 15 Columbia. The Scots hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with FHU after sweeping the Lady Lions in a two-game set this season. Lyon can clinch the conference crown with either a win or a loss by Columbia, who plays at Central Baptist College on Thursday night. Senior Liz Henderson is coming off a monstrous week in which she was named as the NAIA and AMC Player of the Week. Henderson recorded her second double-double of the season with a team-high in points (22) and rebounds (10) in the Scots' 65-62 win over then-No. 12 FHU. She followed that up with a career-high 32 points in a 79-52 win at Park. Henderson became the first Scot to score 30-or-more points in a game since Jamie Jackson scored 35 points on Nov. 1, 2016, against College of the Ozarks.
STLCOP: St. Louis College of Pharmacy enters the final week of its season at 8-19 (5-17 AMC). Grace Beyer is the top scorer for the Eutectics this season. Beyer is averaging a team-high 17.2 points per game, which is tied for third in the AMC. She is also third in the conference with 126 made free throws. Michon Forrest is also averaging double figures in scoring this season at 11.0 points per game.
CC: Columbia College enters the weekend at 23-5 overall and 19-3 in the AMC. The Cougars will need to win their final two games and the Scots to lose their final two games to earn the conference regular-season title outright. Three Cougars are averaging double figures in scoring heading into the final weekend of the regular season as Raegan Wieser leads the team with a 13.4 points per game average. Jordan Alford is second on the team, averaging 11.7 points per game, followed by Mai Nienhueser, who is averaging 10.8 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY
The Scots are 11-0 all-time against STLCOP and 9-25 against CC. Lyon defeated STLCOP, 73-44, on the road earlier this season on Jan. 16, but fell at Columbia, 77-67, two days later.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Saturday's game against Columbia College, the Scots will prepare for the American Midwest Conference Championship. The single-elimination AMC Championship will be held on Mar. 5, 7 and 10 at the higher seeds.
