CONWAY, Ark. – The Lyon College softball team was defeated by NCAA Division I University of Central Arkansas Monday evening, 16-0.
Lyon moves to 9-2 on the season, while the University of Central Arkansas improves to 10-4 on the year.

The Scots opened the game with a lead-off walk by Megan Micke. A sac bunt and a walk of Kassidy Robinson put runners on first and second with one out in the frame. UCA, though, was able to get out of the inning without giving up any runs.
The hosts from Conway got on the scoreboard first as they sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning.
University of Central Arkansas tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the second inning. RBI's singles by Reagan Sperling and Jaylee Engelkes and a throwing error by the visitors accounted for the three runs in the frame, making the score 10-0 in favor of UCA.
In the bottom of the third inning, UCA used three hits and sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring seven runs and earning University of Central Arkansas a 16-0 victory over Lyon on Monday.
Offensively, the Scots were led by Mikayla Mullen as she went 1-for-2 in the contest.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Lyon returns home to host the Scots Tri-Match on Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, Mar. 1. In the Tri-Match, the Scots will face Judson University and William Penn University two times each.
