BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 21st ranked Scots travel to Blue Mountain, Miss., for their first road games of the 2020 season. They will play a midweek doubleheader against the Toppers of Blue Mountain College beginning at noon. The Scots are coming off their first conference series, which resulted in a clean sweep of Harris-Stowe State University in the three-game set.

THE MATCHUP
The Scots improved to 11-3 this past weekend, completing a three-game sweep of Harris-Stowe State in their conference opener.
The Scots flourished offensively in the series; notably, Troy Strack, who enjoyed a 6-for-10 weekend at the plate with a home run and six RBI's. Kylan Barnett also ended the weekend with two home runs in the final game and six RBI's on the series. Jake Michener also reached base nine times and stole three bases at the top of the Scots' lineup. The Scots' hit an impressive .370 as a team during the series and scored 28 runs on 34 hits.
Nine different pitchers saw action for the Scots' in the series for a team ERA of 3.00. Lex Meinderts threw five innings of two-hit baseball and tallied eight strikeouts in game one to collect the win and improve to 3-0 on the season. Alan West also had a strong performance on the mound, holding the Hornets to no runs on five hits in his seven innings of work.
Blue Mountain College is coming off a 2-1 weekend against Texas Wesleyan this past weekend in which they improved to 7-9 on the year.
Anthony Lipsey is off to a hot start this season, hitting .370 with two doubles and eleven RBI's. Pedro Rubio is also putting together an impressive start to the season, hitting .333 with a .438 on-base percentage.
Brandon Maxwell has started three games and appeared once in relief so far this season, boasting a 2.60 ERA in 17.1 total innings and a 1-0 record. Easton Williams has started one game this season, but most of his work has been in relief. He holds a 0.63 ERA and eight strikeouts.
Lyon split with Blue Mountain College last year, and holds a 14-2 record all-time against the Toppers.
NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
After their first road games of the season, the Scots return home to host Hannibal-LaGrange in a three-game conference series. Friday, Feb. 28 will see a doubleheader starting at noon, and a single game the following day. Â
