BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 10th-ranked Lyon College women's basketball team split their first two games of a four-game American Midwest Conference road trip last week. The Scots opened up the trip by defeating St. Louis College of Pharmacy, 73-44, before falling to No. 15 Columbia College, 77-67. The Scots will now wrap up their trip this weekend at (RV) Lindenwood-Belleville and Missouri Baptist. Lyon will face LUB on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before taking on MBU on Saturday at 1 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: The Scots enter this weekend's matchups at 15-2 overall and 11-1 in the American Midwest Conference. The Scots are currently tied with Columbia College for first place in the AMC standings. Senior guard Madison Riley continues to lead the Scots in scoring this season at 16.2 points per game. Riley recently moved into fourth all-time in program history for career points scored (1,507). She is also tied with Amy Shue for career steals (193) and tied for sixth with Taylor Grigg for career three-point field goals made (142). Liz Henderson is second on the team in scoring at 14.4 points per game. Henderson moved up the rankings for several career records following this past weekend's results. Henderson moved into third all-time in career assists (331) and seventh in career points scored (1,438).
LUB: Lindenwood-Belleville enters Thursday night's matchup at 11-5 (8-4 AMC). Thursday night's game between the Scots and Lady Lynx has been named the AMC "Game of the Week." Brianna Mueller is the player to watch for LUB as she leads the NAIA in scoring this season at 24.9 points per game and total points scored (398). Mueller scored 29 points against the Scots in the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season and is coming off a career-high 41 points this past weekend at Williams Baptist.
MBU: Missouri Baptist enters the weekend at 5-11 (5-7 AMC) and will host Central Baptist College on Thursday night. Tionne Taylor leads a trio of Spartans averaging double figures in scoring this season at 14.0 points per game. Taylor also leads the team with 39 steals this season. Taylor Norris is second on the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game. She leads the Spartans with 30 made three-pointers this season. Alexis Allstun is the leading rebounder for MBU as she is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game to go along with her 10.1 points per game average.
SERIES HISTORY
The Scots are 13-0 all-time against Lindenwood-Belleville and 18-0 all-time against Missouri Baptist. Lyon defeated both teams at home earlier this season. The Scots earned a 78-68 win against LUB on Nov. 21 before taking down MBU, 77-52, just two days later.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following this weekend's games at LUB and MBU, the Scots will return home for a brief two-game home stand. The Scots will host Harris-Stowe on Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. for their "Coaches vs. Cancer" game. Lyon will then take on Hannibal-LaGrange on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. for "Alumni Day."
