CANTON, Mo. – The Lyon College men's soccer team fell to Martin Methodist College, 2-0. The Redhawks used two second half goals to down the Scots on Saturday.
Lyon is now 3-3 overall, while Martin Methodist College moves to 4-1 on the year.
GAME FLOW
Each side created chances in the first half. However, both defenses excelled in the first half as the match remained scoreless after the first 45 minutes. Martin Methodist outshot the Scots 6-4 in the first half.
The Redhawks got on the scoreboard first early in the second half. Jonas Arcalean struck a shot into the back of the net in the 50
th minute, giving MMC a 1-0 lead. The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the Redhawks until the 78
th minute. MMC's Nawn Thang found an open Mario Lopez. Lopez found the back of the net, doubling Martin Methodist's lead. The Scots would send more guys forward late in the match in search of a pair of goals, but were unsuccessful and fell to Martin Methodist by a score of 2-0.
