BATESVILLE, Ark. – Freed-Hardeman used a pair of goals in each half to defeat the Scots by a score of 4-0 on Monday.
Lyon moves to 3-3 overall, 0-1 in the AMC, while Freed-Hardeman University improves to 3-2 overall, 2-0 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
The match remained scoreless until the 35
th minute. The Lady Lions would break the scoreless tie off Nele Kirsch's third goal of the season. In the 40
th minute, Freed-Hardeman sent a free kick into the box. The Scots tried to clear it out, but FHU's MacKenzie Wrather struck a shot from just outside the box into the back of the net, giving the Lady Lions a 2-0 lead at the break.
The Scots would generate more opportunities in the second half as they took nine shots in the final 45 minutes as compared to zero in the first half. It was the Lady Lions, though, who capitalized off their chances with a goal in the 71
st minute by Morgan Leighton and a goal by Lauren Rodgers in the 84
th minute. The Scots would try to respond, but were unsuccessful and fell to the Lady Lions by a score of 4-0 on Monday.
