BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's soccer team fell to (RV) LSU-Alexandria University on Tuesday to open the 2019 campaign. The Generals scored the lone goal of the match in the 39
th minute.
Lyon is now 0-1 overall, while LSU-Alexandria moves to 1-0 on the year.
GAME FLOW
In the first half, each side would have opportunities, but it was the Generals who got on the board first in the 39
th minute off a corner kick by Daniel Aviles. Aviles delivered the cross, where Alan Albornaz struck a shot from outside the box into the back of the net, giving the Generals a 1-0 lead at the break.
The Scots pushed more guys forward in the second half, trying to knot the game at one. Lyon created chances, but was unable to find the equalizer and ultimately fell to LSU-Alexandria by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
