BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 15th-ranked Lyon College baseball team finished the 2019 regular season with a record of 37-18 overall and a 19-11 mark in the American Midwest Conference. With the 19-11 record in conference play, the Scots clinched the No. 4-seed in this week's American Midwest Conference Tournament (May 1-4). The Scots will open up the tournament on Wednesday evening at 4 p.m. against No. 5-seed Central Baptist College. This year's double-elimination, AMC Tournament, will once again be held at Joe Becker Stadium in Joplin, Mo.

THE MATCHUP
Freshman outfielder,
Alan West, led the Scots offensively during the regular season with a .439 batting average. West went 68-for-155 at the plate, with 16 doubles, three home runs, 34 RBI and 36 runs scored. His .439 batting average led the AMC and ranks seventh in the NAIA this season.
Kylan Barnett finished second on the team with a .375 batting average (72-for-192). Barnett led the Scots during the regular season in triples (5), home runs (6), RBI (55) and runs scored (54). His 72 hits led the AMC during the regular season.

Mack Larson led the Scots' pitching staff with seven wins during the regular season. Larson finished with a record of 7-3 to go along with a 5.63 ERA. He led the team with 67 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched.
Marcelo Terrazas finished with a 6-5 record with a 3.22 ERA.
Ethan Denney recorded a team-high five saves during the regular season.

Trae Bobo led the Mustangs offensively during the regular season. Bobo finished with a team-high .353 batting average. Bobo went 60-for-170 at the plate, with 11 doubles, 22 home runs, 51 RBI and 32 runs scored. He finished the regular season in fourth place in the NAIA in home runs per game (.458) and total home runs. He finished seventh in total bases per game (2.854), ninth in total bases (137) and 10th in slugging percentage (.806).

Hunter Marshall led the Mustangs' pitching staff with a 5-3 record during the season. Marshall finished the regular season with a 4.50 ERA and tossed one shutout. Justin Vincent was a very quality starter for CBC. Vincent finished the regular season with a 4-3 record and a 2.57 ERA (the lowest ERA on the team). Vincent threw five complete games, and had one shutout.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Scots are 9-5 all-time against the Mustangs. CBC took two games out of a three-game series earlier this season against the Scots on Mar. 1-2, in Conway, Ark. The Mustangs took the first two games of the series by scores of 5-1 and 7-2 before the Scots earned a 7-4 victory in the series finale.

NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
If the Scots win Wednesday's game against CBC, they will face the winner of No. 1-seed Freed-Hardeman and No. 8-seed Park on Thursday at 4 p.m. If the Scots lose against the Mustangs, Lyon will play the loser of the contest between FHU and Park on Thursday at 10 a.m.
