BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 15th-ranked Lyon College baseball team will wrap up its 2019 regular season this week with a four-game home stand. The Scots will open up the home stand with their final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. against College of the Ozarks.

THE MATCHUP
The Scots dropped a three-game American Midwest Conference series this past weekend at Harris-Stowe. Lyon won game one, 9-8, before falling in the next two games by scores of 6-2 and 4-3. The Scots enter Tuesday's matinee with an overall record of 35-16.

Kyle West, moved into second place on the all-time career hits list for the Lyon College baseball team over the weekend. West collected his 232nd career hit with his double in the seventh inning of the first game of Saturday's doubleheader and passed former Scot, Sam Cooke, who collected 231 hits during his career from 2003-06.

Alan West continues to lead the Scots offensively this season. West is batting a team-high .444 (63-for-142), which ranks fifth in the NAIA this season. Of his 63 hits this season, 17 have gone for extra bases as he has 14 doubles and three home runs on the year.

Reese Chovanec improved to 3-0 on the mound this season after earning the win in the series opener at Harris-Stowe. Chovanec tossed five strong innings of relief as he allowed just one run on three hits while striking out six. Â

College of the Ozarks dropped three games in a four-game series this past weekend at William Woods. WWU won game one by a score of 12-1 before CofO earned a 5-3 victory in game two. The Owls took the final two games of the series by scores of 7-2 and 5-2. The Bobcats sport a record of 23-26 entering Tuesday's contest.

Jay Kaufman leads the Bobcats offensively this season. Kaufman is batting a team-high .406 (56-for-138), with 13 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 34 RBI and 20 runs scored. Max Pulley leads CofO with 42 runs scored, while Ryan Daggs leads the team with seven home runs.

Collan Thrasher leads the CofO pitching staff in multiple categories this season. Thrasher is 5-7 with a 4.40 ERA. He leads the team in innings pitched (77.2), strikeouts (70), appearances (12), starts (11) and complete games (6). Â

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Scots are 2-0 all-time against the Bobcats. The two teams last played on April 9, 2013. The Scots swept a doubleheader by a score of 7-6 in both games.

NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Tuesday's game against CofO, the Lyon College baseball team will host Columbia College for its final three games of the regular season. The Scots and Cougars will open up the series with a doubleheader on Friday. The two teams will conclude the series with a single nine-inning game on Saturday beginning at noon. Senior Day recognition will take place prior to Saturday's game, while a ring ceremony for the 2018 AMC Regular Season Championship will occur after the game.
