BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 17th-ranked Lyon College baseball team will begin its final road trip of its regular season this weekend when the Scots travel to Hannibal, Mo., for a three-game American Midwest Conference series at Hannibal-LaGrange. This weekend's games will be the first of eight-straight road games for the Scots.

THE MATCHUP
The Scots picked up a 5-1 victory against Hendrix College on Tuesday and improved to 31-12 overall with the win. Lyon is 8-2 in its last 10 games, and is currently on a four-game winning streak.

Alan West went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, one RBI and two runs scored on Tuesday against Hendrix College. It is the first time that West has collected four hits in a game during his freshman campaign. West is batting .439 entering this weekend's series at HLG, which leads the AMC and ranks 11th in the NAIA. West has collected 50 hits this season, which places him at sixth in the conference.
Troy Strack ranks fourth in the AMC with 53 total hits, while
Kylan Barnett is tied for first with 55 hits. Strack leads the AMC with 46 runs scored.

The Scots will likely throw
Marcelo Terrazas,
Mack Larson and
Ryan Porras against the Trojans this weekend. Terrazas and Larson are tied for the team lead with six wins each this season. Terrazas is 6-3 with a 2.48 ERA. Larson is 6-2 with a 4.70 ERA. Porras is 4-2 with a 4.47 ERA this season.

Hannibal-LaGrange enters this weekend's series at 13-24 overall and 5-19 in the AMC. The Trojans have been playing better ball as of late as they split a doubleheader at (RV) William Penn on Tuesday. HLG earned a 13-10 win in the first game of the twin bill.

Chet Merritt leads the Trojans in multiple offensive categories this season. Merritt leads HLG in batting average (.433), hits (55), doubles (12) and runs scored (31). He is tied for the team lead with 20 RBI this season.

VJ Vinson, Grant Geppert and Justin French will likely start on the mound for the Trojans this weekend. Vinson sports a 3-2 record and a 5.33 ERA. Geppert is 2-4 with a 6.11 ERA, while French is 1-7 with a 6.49 ERA.

Lyon is 19-1 in the all-time series against Hannibal-LaGrange. The Scots have won the last 12 meetings against the Trojans.
